Camp Themes & Funshops
Summer 2024
All funshops (except Barnyard) take place on a daily basis. Funshops may not occur on field trip or special event days.
SESSION ONE: June 10-28
Lost in Nature
Connect with the great outdoors by embracing our "Lost in Nature" theme. This session will include nature investigations, zoo visits, and photo-sharing sessions of everyone's favorite outdoor spots.
Woodwork
From wood boat races to bird houses, campers will use their creative energy and gain construction experience in their woodwork projects.
Fabrics & Lanyard
Discover the art of lanyard making and dive into the world of fabrics! Campers will unleash their imagination as they explore a variety of textures, colors, and patterns.
Entrepreneurship
Empower future leaders with essential skills, from idea inception to marketplace success. This funshop will take campers on an exciting journey where creativity meets commerce, culminating in a bustling farmers' market day where young entrepreneurs bring their visions to life!
Barnyard (Twice a week)
Campers will visit our Science and Nature Center and learn all about our animals while having hands-on interactions with the stars of our school!
SESSION TWO: July 1-19
Underwater Adventure
Dive into the depths of summer and cool off with our underwater-themed session. From sea creature trivia and a "best underwater-themed outfit" contest, campers will explore the underwater world.
Science
Campers will learn through hands-on experiments, making outdoor observations, testing hypotheses, and guided activities as they explore nature.
Cooking
Campers will explore their culinary skills as they learn the basics of cooking and enjoy the delicious creations they can recreate for themselves and their loved ones.
Drama
It’s time to shine! Campers will explore a variety of theatrical techniques, from acting and improv to stagecraft and character development. They can also create a performance and showcase it in our talent show!
Barnyard (Twice a week)
Campers will visit our Science and Nature Center and learn all about our animals while having hands-on interactions with the stars of our school!
SESSION THREE: July 22-August 9
Olympics 2024
CWH will be hosting our own 2024 Summer Olympics. Kicking off with a grand opening ceremony, camp teams will compete with each other in friendly team and individual challenges inspired by real Olympic sports. We conclude the 2024 Summer Olympics with a carnival and closing ceremony to celebrate all our Olympians!
Engineering
From toothbrush robots to building challenges, campers will put their engineering skills to the test. Engineering challenges include building bridges, participating in the egg drop challenge, and more.
Sports & Games
Campers will play in a variety of athletic activities and “train” for the Olympic events they will compete in throughout the session.
Art
Campers can unleash their imaginations as they dive into a variety of exciting arts and crafts projects. From painting and drawing to sculpting and collage making, there's no limit to what they will create!
